I started "Would You Live In This Cabin For $1,200" when some cornstarch packing peanuts showed up a few days into my Covid-19 lockdown. Inspired by old American Tramp Art, which espoused using common throwaway items on hand as creative materials, I set out to make a sculpture with these peanuts and the box they came in. 

 

Taking advantage of the ephemeral, transient nature of the packing peanuts as an art supply, I decided to build and melt a house with them, and film that step of the process. This house represents how fragile and transient our security as a country truly was. Our American Dream has melted away.
